Haseena Parkar: The Rise and Fall of The Lady Don - Outlook India

Full Haseena: The Story of Dawood Ibrahim's Sister

Introduction

Have you ever heard of full Haseena? No, it's not a slang term or a nickname. It's actually the title of a 2017 Bollywood film that tells the story of one of the most notorious women in India's history: Haseena Parkar.

full Haseena

Haseena Parkar was the sister of Dawood Ibrahim, the infamous gangster who is wanted for several crimes, including terrorism, murder, extortion, drug trafficking, and money laundering. He is also accused of masterminding the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts that killed over 250 people and injured more than 700.

The film full Haseena depicts how Haseena rose from being a simple housewife to becoming the queen of Mumbai's underworld after her brother fled to Dubai. It shows how she wielded power and influence over politicians, police, businessmen, and celebrities. It also portrays how she faced various challenges and controversies in her life, such as losing her husband and son in gang wars, and facing several court cases in her life. It also explores her relationship with her brother and how she became his confidante and proxy in Mumbai.

Early Life and Family

Haseena Parkar was born in 1959 in the village of Mumka in Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra. She was the seventh child of Ibrahim Kaskar, a head constable in the Mumbai Police, and Amina Bi, a housewife. She had eleven siblings, including Dawood Ibrahim, who was four years older than her. Haseena was very close to Dawood since childhood and often accompanied him to watch movies and cricket matches.

Haseena completed her schooling from a local school and got married to Ibrahim Parkar, a small-time businessman, in 1976. She moved to his house in Temkar Mohalla near Nagpada, where she lived a simple life as a housewife and mother of three children: Danish, Alishah, and Qudsiya. Haseena was happy with her husband and had no involvement in the underworld activities of her brother.

Rise to Power

Dawood Ibrahim, on the other hand, rose to become one of the most powerful gangsters in Mumbai by the 1980s. He started his criminal career as a petty thief and smuggler, but soon expanded his empire to include drugs, arms, extortion, gambling, and contract killing. He also forged alliances with other gangs, such as the Pathan gang of Karim Lala and the Konkani Muslim gang of Haji Mastan. He also developed contacts with politicians, police, bureaucrats, and celebrities.

Haseena Parkar got involved in her brother's illegal activities after her husband was killed by the rival gang of Arun Gawli in 1991. Ibrahim Parkar was shot dead outside his house by four gunmen while he was returning from court. Haseena was devastated by the loss of her husband and vowed to take revenge. She approached Dawood for help and he agreed to avenge his brother-in-law's death.

Dawood orchestrated the infamous JJ Hospital shootout in 1992, in which his men attacked the Arun Gawli gang members who were admitted there after being injured in a police encounter. One of the shooters was Shailesh Haldankar, who had killed Ibrahim Parkar. He was shot dead by Dawood's men along with two police constables who were guarding him. Another shooter, Bipin Shere, escaped with injuries.

After this incident, Haseena Parkar became more active in the underworld and started managing Dawood's empire in Mumbai after he fled to Dubai following the 1993 bomb blasts that he allegedly masterminded. She took over his properties, businesses, and operations in the city and became his representative and mediator. She also acquired several benami properties and assets worth crores of rupees. She earned the nickname of "Haseena Aapa" or "Lady Don" among the people.

Haseena Parkar had several sources of income and influence in Mumbai. She ran an extortion racket that targeted builders, developers, traders, film producers, and celebrities. She also controlled the cable network, hawala transactions, and land deals in many areas. She had connections with politicians, police officers, lawyers, judges, and journalists. She also helped many poor people by providing them money, jobs, shelter, and protection. b70169992d
